DJI has introduced its new flagship Osmo 360 II 360-degree action camera. It is the upgraded successor to last year’s Osmo 360 and comes with improved camera hardware along with several new features. The camera is equipped with dual 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensors capable of recording native 8K panoramic video at up to 60fps.

The new Osmo 360 II also features up to 14.5 stops of dynamic range, a fast f/1.9 aperture and an AI Super Night 2.0 mode designed to improve video quality in low-light conditions. It also comes with replaceable lens protection, making the camera better suited for adventure and outdoor shooting.

DJI Osmo 360 II Price and Availability

The DJI Osmo 360 II starts at CNY 3,299, approximately Rs 46,700, in China. This price is for the Standard Combo.

The Standard Combo includes the camera, a 2,150mAh cold-resistant battery, two lens protectors and a camera pouch.

DJI has also introduced an Adventure Combo for users who need additional batteries and accessories for longer shooting sessions. The package includes three 2,150mAh batteries, a multifunctional battery case, an adjustable dual-direction quick-release adapter, a 1.2-metre invisible selfie stick, two lens protectors and a camera pouch.

The Adventure Combo is priced at CNY 3,999, approximately Rs 56,600.

The company has not yet announced the India price or confirmed the launch date for the Osmo 360 II in the country.

DJI Osmo 360 II Specifications

The camera features dual 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensors, with both sensors paired with an f/1.9 aperture. It supports an ISO range of 100 to 51,200.

According to DJI, the square sensor design delivers a panoramic field of view comparable to a traditional 1-inch sensor while improving sensor utilisation by around 25 percent.

For video recording, the Osmo 360 II can capture native 8K panoramic video at up to 60fps. It also supports 6K video recording at up to 60fps.

Up to 14.5 Stops of Dynamic Range

One of the key highlights of the Osmo 360 II is its improved dynamic range.

DJI claims that the camera offers up to 14.5 stops of dynamic range, which is twice that of the previous model. The two lenses can manage exposure independently, helping preserve more details in challenging lighting conditions.

The camera also features AI Super Night 2.0 technology. Combined with the f/1.9 aperture, it is designed to deliver clearer and more detailed video in low-light environments.

Up to 120MP Panoramic Photos

The DJI Osmo 360 II is capable of capturing not only high-quality videos but also high-resolution panoramic photographs.

It can shoot 360-degree images at up to 120 megapixels, with a maximum resolution of 15,520 x 7,760 pixels.

The camera also supports 10-bit colour recording for video. In addition, D-Log M is available for professional users who want greater control over post-production and colour grading.

AI-Powered Subject Tracking

The Osmo 360 II also comes with AI-powered subject tracking.

The technology can identify and follow a subject while attempting to keep it positioned in the centre of the frame. However, DJI states that the feature is currently available only in panoramic tracking mode and supports resolutions of up to 4K.

IP68 Protection and Up to 1TB Storage

The new DJI Osmo 360 II comes with an IP68 rating. According to the company, it can be used underwater at depths of up to 10 metres without requiring an additional waterproof case.

For storage, the camera comes with 128GB of built-in storage. Users can also expand storage using a microSD card with a capacity of up to 1TB.

This should be particularly useful for users who frequently record large 8K and 360-degree video files.

Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and OsmoAudio Support

For connectivity, the DJI Osmo 360 II supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB Type-C.

The camera also supports DJI’s OsmoAudio technology, allowing it to connect directly with compatible DJI microphone transmitters. These include the DJI Mic 3 and DJI Mic Mini 2.

This feature could be particularly useful for vloggers, travel creators and adventure content creators who need high-quality wireless audio while recording 360-degree footage.

Battery and Operating Temperature

The DJI Osmo 360 II is powered by a 2,150mAh battery.

According to DJI, the camera can record up to 100 minutes of 8K/30fps panoramic video on a single charge.

The camera is also designed to operate in a wide range of weather conditions and can function at temperatures between -20 degrees Celsius and 45 degrees Celsius.

DJI has currently announced pricing only for China. The India price and availability of the DJI Osmo 360 II are yet to be officially confirmed.
