Honor has launched its new Robot Phone in China. The smartphone has grabbed attention with its unique robotic camera system. A pop-out gimbal camera is placed on the top of the handset and features a 200-megapixel primary sensor. The innovative camera setup allows users to record hands-free videos without needing a tripod.

The phone’s AI-powered subject tracking feature automatically moves the camera to keep a person or object within the frame while recording. For performance, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It comes with up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage and a 7,060mAh battery. The phone supports 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Honor first introduced the Robot Phone concept last year before showcasing the device at MWC 2026 earlier this year.

Honor Robot Phone Price

The Honor Robot Phone is priced starting at CNY 9,999 (approximately Rs. 1.41 lakh) in China. This price is for the variant with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The top-end model with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at CNY 12,999 (approximately Rs. 1.83 lakh).

The smartphone is available in Moon Shadow Grey and Star Trail Silver colour options. The colour names have been translated from Chinese.

Honor Robot Phone Specifications

The Honor Robot Phone supports dual Nano-SIM connectivity and runs on MagicOS 10. It features a 6.31-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,216×2,640 pixels and a pixel density of 460ppi.

The display supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. According to Honor, the panel can reach a peak HDR brightness of up to 6,800 nits.

The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor paired with an Adreno 840 GPU. It comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.

200MP Robotic Gimbal Camera

The biggest highlight of the Honor Robot Phone is its 200-megapixel robotic gimbal camera. The camera module positioned on the top of the phone can rotate as needed and track subjects while recording videos.

The triple rear camera setup includes a 200-megapixel primary sensor with a 1/1.28-inch CMOS sensor, an f/1.6 aperture and 23mm-equivalent gimbal stabilisation.

The phone also features a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera that supports 2.7x optical zoom and up to 200x digital zoom. The third camera is a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with a 122-degree field of view.

For selfies, the smartphone comes with a 50-megapixel front camera offering a 90-degree field of view. The rear cameras can record 4K videos at up to 120fps, while the front camera supports 4K video recording at 60fps.

The robotic camera features three-axis mechanical gimbal stabilisation along with AI-powered intelligent subject tracking. The system automatically moves the camera based on the subject’s position, allowing users to capture stable, tracking-based videos without a tripod.

Honor has partnered with camera technology company ARRI for the development and launch of the Robot Phone.

Connectivity and Other Features

The Honor Robot Phone offers a wide range of connectivity options, including 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and USB Type-C. It also supports GPS, NavIC, Galileo, GLONASS and an infrared remote control.

The smartphone features stereo speakers and four microphones with AI-based noise reduction. For security, it comes with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

Other onboard sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, proximity sensor, Hall sensor and an X-axis linear motor.

7,060mAh Battery and Dimensions

The Honor Robot Phone packs a 7,060mAh battery with support for 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. It also supports wireless reverse charging.

The device measures 151.43×72.86×9.59mm and weighs approximately 248 grams.
